Intern, Business Support (2025 Summer HR Internship)

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an HR Intern to join the Business Unit HR team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience. 

This internship is in-person at our St. Petersburg, FL location during the dates of May 19th to August 8th, 2025.

• Provides support to professional employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study. 

• Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records. 

• Learns organizational processes and procedures.  

• Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff.  

• May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions. 

• Handles basic issues and problems 

Additional Responsibilities

• Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
• Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms.
• Assist in the recruiting process including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, obtaining feedback, and processing new hire paperwork.

• Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related HR courses or be within 6 months of graduation.
  
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree
• Discipline/Major: HR preferred 

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel:

• No travel likely.
